BERKELEY, Calif. – The Nevada track and field team wrapped up day one of the Brutus Hamilton Invitational today. Leading the way were junior Shannon Palladino and sophomore Katarina Stashyn, with the duo landing in the top four of the 5,000m race.
Palladino took second in the 12-person race with a time of 18:16.64, while Stashyn took fourth thanks to a time of 18:26.24.
Freshman Kalia Pfeffer took second in her 800m race as well, finishing in 2:21.41, just over a second off her personal record.
The Pack had three top-10 finishers in the day's field events as well. In the hammer throw, freshman Grace Wills took seventh with a 145' 9.25" (44.43 meter) throw. Sophomore Tina Lao took ninth in the discus with a mark of 123' 8.75" (37.71 m). Freshman Keena Murphy took 10th with a throw of 121' (36.88 m).
Freshman Kylee Stevens-Sam took 13th in the discus with a 116' 0.50 (35.37 m) heave.
Nevada will close out the regular season tomorrow, with the long jump and pole vault beginning at 10:00 a.m. PT. Live results will be available at nevadawolfpack.com/tf.
