RENO, Nev. - The Nevada softball team (15-9, 2-1) is heading into a busy week as it plays host for a midweek doubleheader against Marist on Tuesday before heading north to Montana for a three-game non-conference series. 

Last weekend the Pack opened conference play with a home series win against Utah State, 2-1 and moved to 2-4 in opening Mountain West series since joining the conference. It also marked the fourth consecutive year the team has entered Mountain West play with a .500 record or better. 

Senior Kali Sargent and junior Sadaria McAlister had season and career best games. Sargent posted a season high 10 strikeouts in the Saturday game with five innings pitched and totaled 20 on the weekend while McAlister posted a career high 11 total bases, five RBI and two home runs in the Saturday contest. 

The doubleheader against Marist marks the first and only home midweek doubleheader of the year and was added to the schedule in February after the Sacramento State tournament was rained out. It also marks the first time the two have met on the diamond and will be games 25 and 26 for the Pack. 

After the doubleheader the team will take on Montana in Missoula and will be just the fifth time the two have met with the series tied at two a piece. The teams previously played each other last year in St. George, Utah that saw the Griz win, 16-3. However, the Pack are 2-1 when playing in Missoula.
