RENO, Nev. - Nevada Softball turns its attention to postseason play this week as the Wolf Pack hosts the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Softball Championship at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park from May 6–9. The Pack enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will open play on Wednesday, May 6 at 6 p.m. against No. 6 Colorado State. The event marks a significant moment for both the program and the conference, as the Mountain West Championship comes to Reno for the first time since the programs reinstatement, placing the postseason spotlight on a Nevada team that has built steady momentum throughout the spring.
The championship will start with a single-elimination format with the winner earning the Mountain West's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. A Nevada win in its opening game would set up a Thursday evening matchup with No. 2 UNLV. The field is anchored by No. 1 Grand Canyon, which enters its first Mountain West Championship as the regular‑season champion, while UNLV holds the second seed and awaits the winner of Nevada and Colorado State.
Across four days, Hixson Softball Park will serve as the center of Mountain West softball, with up to nine games scheduled and the championship set for Saturday, May 9 at noon, followed by an if‑necessary game at 2:30 p.m. Nevada last appeared in the Mountain West Championship in 2025 after taking the regular-season title, and now the Pack hosts with a roster built for postseason competition, combining strong pitching, timely offense, and a home environment that has grown into one of the most energetic in the league.
