Nevada 10, Colorado State 1
May 6, 2026
Reno, Nev. – Christina M. Hixson Park

RENO, Nev. - Nevada delivered an explosive offensive performance on Wednesday night, run‑ruling Colorado State 10–1 in five innings to advance in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship. The Pack erupted for eight runs in the third inning and never looked back, securing its spot in Thursday's second‑round matchup against UNLV at 6 p.m. at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park.

The decisive third inning broke open what had been a scoreless game through two frames. Nevada strung together hit after hit, highlighted by a three‑run home run from Hannah Di Genova, her 25th of the season, to ignite the rally. The inning also featured RBI swings from Lexi O'Gorman, Katie Wetteland, and Karolyn Glover, who later added a two-run home run of her own in the fifth.

Madison Clark set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 3‑for‑4 with three runs scored, while Di Genova finished with a team‑high four RBI. The game ended when Wetteland hit a two-run walk-off home run securing the win for Nevada.

In the circle, Hailey McLean earned her 10th win of the season, holding the Rams to four hits and one run over 4.2 innings while striking out five. Talia Tretton entered to record the final out of the fifth, sealing the run‑rule finish.

With the victory, Nevada moves on to face No. 2 seed UNLV on Thursday at 6 p.m. The winner advances in the double‑elimination bracket, while the loser will drop to the elimination side.
