NAMPA, Idaho.  – The Nevada women's track and field team concluded its indoor season opening meet today, wrapping up Boise State's Ed Jacoby Invitational. The day included personal records by
Agnese Mulatero in the 60 meter hurdles as well as the 200 m, and freshman
Emily Costello moving into the top ten at Nevada in the 400 m.

Costello moved into a tie for eighth all-time at Nevada in the 400 m, finishing with a time of 56.61. The time landed her at second place in the 16-person race, with teammate
Lauren Green right behind her in fourth place. A sophomore out of Albuquerque, N.M., Green secured a new personal record time of 57.73.

The Wolf Pack saw excellent performances in the sprints as well, with freshman
Cece Stevenson running the 60 m in 7.84 seconds to secure a spot in the finals. In the 60 m hurdles, with sophomore
Agnese Mulatero shaving a hundredth of a second off of her personal record, finishing in 8.76 seconds in the prelims to advance to the finals. The time still has her at eight all-time at Nevada. Joining her in the eight-person final was junior
Andrea Stark. A transfer from American River College, today marked the first time Stark ran the 60 m hurdles competitively, but finished with a time of 8.94 seconds in the preliminaries.

In the 60 m hurdles final, Mulatero took third with a time of 8.81, while Stark took sixth with a time of 9.00. Stevenson finished sixth as well with a time of 7.87 in the 60 m dash.

The day's field events began with the long jump, with freshmen twins Denver and
Gabby Fraser joining sophomore
Kayla Afoa as Nevada's representatives. Afoa took third place overall after a personal record 18' 3.75" (5.58 m) leap in the finals.

"It's really great for Kayla to have a PR, she has been with volleyball and just started working with track this last week," said associate head coach
Scott Williamson, who oversees the jumpers. "I'm excited to see what she can accomplish this season."

The Fraser twins were not done after the long jump. The duo competed in the triple jump, and both secured spots in the top ten. Gabby took seventh, thanks to a score of 36' 7" (11.15 m). Denver took eighth with a score of 36' 2.75" (11.04 m)

In the pole vault, three members of the Pack landed in the top four. Senior
Emily Etter topped the event with a high of 12' 3.75" (3.75 m). Freshman
Grace Ericson and sophomore
Marissa Richey tied for fourth with 10' 10" (3.30 m).

The Wolf Pack middistance crew saw success in the 800 m, the longest run of the day for Nevada. Sophomore
Eliza McCall came in second with a time of 2:14.84, just over a second behind her personal record of 2:13.91, which sits at tenth all-time at Nevada. Just behind McCall was freshman
Erika Robtoy, who came in third place thanks to a time of 2:17.48. Junior
Claire Crowley came in at ninth with a time of 2:19.84.

The 200 m race was filled with Wolf Pack success as well, with Stevenson, Mulatero and sophomore
Brooke Carson each winning their heats. The trio was joined by senior
Makeya White in the top fifteen of the 62-person field. Stevenson came in at ninth with Carson, Mulatero and White finishing 13-15, respectively.

Stevenson finished with a time of 25.79 in her first collegiate running of the 200 m. Mulatero's time of 26.11 was over a half second faster than her previous personal record of 26.66.

In the shot put, sophomore
Tina Lao's throw of 39' 9.25" (12.12 m) fell just short of advancing to the final. Fellow sophomore
Emma Dern's toss of 40' 0.25" (12.20 m)earned her a spot in the finals. In the finals, her score of 40' 3.5" (12.28 m) earned her a ninth-place finish.

Freshman
Avery Lauf competed in the high jump, finishing 4' 9.5" (1.46 m) to tie for fifteenth place. In the one mile race, freshman
Mikayla Shults finished ninth overall in the 21-person field with a time of 5:14.58.

The Wolf Pack concluded the day with the 4x400 relay. Nevada's 'A' team, featuring Carson, Costello, Stevenson and Green, finished seventh overall with a time of 4:01.74.

Today's performances come after the Wolf Pack saw sophomore
Nicola Ader earn personal records in the 60 m hurdles and high jump in yesterday's pentathlon. The distance medley relay team also came out on top in day one, with a time of 12:27.32.

Up next for Nevada is a trip to Boulder, Colo. for the three-day Colorado Invitational, which runs from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
