RENO, Nev. – Already with more wins than its previous three seasons, the Nevada men's tennis team (11-3) will begin conference play this Friday at New Mexico (10-7) at 4 p.m. PST and at Air Force (10-9) at 11 a.m. PST.
The Wolf Pack travels to battle the Lobos while on a four-match win streak, coming off two home victories. Playing at Lakeridge Tennis Club, Nevada defeated Idaho and Montana to improve its record to 11-3, the best start to a season under head coach Sylvain Malroux.
The Pack is now 49-33 in singles, with junior Augustin Delahodde and Julien Evrard winning their last three matches. Evrard and freshman Jeremy Merville have been on fire recently, each winning seven of their last 10 singles matches. Nevada's most wins have come on court No. 1, boasting a 10-4 record as a team.
Doubles play has been even more impressive for Nevada, now 30-6 as a team. The Pack has only lost the doubles point in one match all season, and three different tandems have at least seven victories this season.
New Mexico will host the Pack trying to break a two-match skid. Air Force holds a record just over .500, and is led by Sean McKendree who holds a team-high seven wins and has competed on five of six courts. The match against the Falcons will be live streamed here.
