FRESNO, Calif. – The Nevada swim and dive team continued its winning ways with a 182-112 win over Mountain West opponent Fresno State. This meet marked the third straight dual meet win for the Pack.
"Fresno State is a much improved team from last year and they presented a big challenge for us," said head coach Brendon Bray. "I thought we really stepped up and competed hard. We had some good dives on the boards and on the swim side we had season bests and a couple lifetime bests."
Andressa Cholodovskis continues to be a beast in the water. The junior claimed two individual events in the 100 and 200 butterfly as well as helping the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay to first places finishes.
Senior Rebecca Murray also had a stellar day with wins in the 200 free (1:52.24), 100 free (51.47) and was on the winning 400 medley relay. Another senior, Jamie Reynolds, won the 50 free in 23.81 and was on both winning relay squads. Caitlyn Richardson, the third swim senior, gathered two second place finishes in the 200 free and the 100 free while being the fourth member on the 400 free relay team.
Freshman Julia Adamczyk recorded a first place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:59.20 and a first in the 400 IM in 4:24.29. Fellow freshman, Lindsey Soule finished third in the 200 backstroke while sophomore Imogen Watson took second.
Donna dePolo came out on top in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.20, a slight improvement from last night's dual meet. The sophomore took second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:18.55 while being the fourth member on the 200 medley relay that finished with a time of 1:43.41.
Toma Shmitova and Linnea Sorensen both competed in the diving events, 1-meter and 3-meter. Shmitova took first in both events with scores of 310.58 and 315.30 while Sorensen finished second in both with scores of 294.30 and 283.13.
"It's always hard to do meets back-to-back but our performance overall was very good and I can't wait to see how we do in Houston when we are rested," continued Bray.
Nevada has this weekend off to rest and prepare for the mid-season invite. The Pack travel to Houston, Texas to compete in the three-day meet hosted by Houston on Nov. 16-18 while the divers head to Northern Arizona to compete in the invite there on the same weekend.
