The Pack claims victory over UC Davis in record-breaking ways

DAVIS, Calif. – The Nevada swim and dive team had a phenomenal showing at the UC Davis dual meet on Friday evening, claiming the win 187-113. Not only did the team win the meet but it saw eight facility records broken.

"Outstanding overall performance today," said head coach Brendon Bray. "So happy to see our divers perform well and every single swimmer improved from Stockton. We have a long way to go but I do not think we could have been any better today."

The Pack took first in 15 of the 16 events held during the meet. Andressa Cholodovskis recorded two individual wins, both resulting in facility records. First was the 200 free, where she finished with a time of 1:48.93 and in the 100 IM with a time of 55.79. The junior was also on the record breaking 400 medley relay that also saw Jamie Reynolds, Donna dePolo and Rebecca Murray finished with a time of 3:44.54.

Sophomore Imogen Watson had her best meet of the season which included three individual wins and all three were facility records. First event for Watson was the 50 back where she sprinted a time of 26.20. In the 100 back she swam a time of 55.79, good for first and rounded it out with another first in the 50 fly with a time of 25.44.

Senior Jamie Reynolds had a day for herself as well, winning the 50 breast in 29.33 with another facility record. She was also a part of the 200 relay with Murray, Olivia Clark and Caitlyn Richardson. Another senior, Richardson took first in the 100 free with a time of 51.43 while coming in second in the 50 free in 24.05, just behind Murray who won the event in 23.88.

Donna dePolo claimed a victory in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.72 and finished second in the 50 breast in 29.47.

The freshman Julia Adamczyk had a standout day with a first place finish in the longest race, the 1000 free in 10:08.98 and turned around and won the 100 fly with a time of 56.82.

The dive squad swept both events, with Toma Shmitova winning both the 1-meter and the 3-meter and Linnea Sorensen coming in second. Shmitova scored 320.32 in the 1-meter and 313.80 in the 3-meter with Sorensen scoring 312.82 in the 1-meter and 313.57 in 3-meter.
