STOCKTON, Calif. – The Nevada women's swim team picked up right where it left off on Saturday afternoon, winning the Pacific Invitational with 845.5 points. The Pack won in commanding fashion with a 57 point difference between first and second.
"This was a great team win with some fast early season swims," said head coach
Brendon Bray. "I am happy with our performance for how tired we are from training."
The Pack continued its momentum from the Friday evening events with a win in the first event of day two. The relay comprised of
Imogen Watson,
Donna dePolo,
Andressa Cholodovskis and
Rebecca Murray won the 400-yard relay with a time of 3:48.78.
Watson also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.75, which is her second race win of the meet not including the relay win she was a member of.
Freshman
Julia Adamczyk finished second overall in the 500-yard free in 4:59.92.
In the 100-yard free, Nevada finished four in the top five with Cholodovskis winning it in 50.72. Murray took third with a time of 52.22 while seniors
Jamie Reynolds and
Caitlyn Richardson finished fourth and fifth respectively. There were 45 swimmers in the event.
Cholodovskis, Adamczyk and Richardson went one-two-three in the 200-yard IM with Cholodovskis winning her fourth individual race of the meet with a time of 2:02.91.
The Nevada 200-yard free relay won its event with a time of 1:36.21 with Reynolds, Murray, Richardson and Watson. dePolo also took the win in the 200-yard breaststroke finishing with a time of 2:18.15.
In the final event of the meet, the 1650-yard free, the Pack took third, fourth and fifth behind
Lindsey Soule,
Caitlyn McHugh and
Alexa Markl.
Next up for Nevada is a meet at UC Davis on October 26th with a 4 p.m. PT start time.
