Nevada soccer junior Amane Orito has been selected as the September Student-Athlete of the Month. Orito, an international student from Japan, first came to Nevada in 2017. The Tokyo native hardly knew any English when she first arrived at Nevada. After committing countless hours to her sport, her studies, and the English language, she has improved tremendously. Orito demonstrates what student athletes can accomplish with dedication and hard work.

Following graduation, Orito plans to go back to Japan to pursue a career coaching soccer while also teaching physical education.
