ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nevada Women's Golf closed out play at their season opener, the Branch Law Firm / McGuire Invitational, Tuesday, finishing the tournament in ninth play at a +31 total (895). 

Coco Kolbas and Payton Lovisa led the Wolf Pack, both notching top-20 finishes, posting scores of 74-74-72=220 (+4). Kolbas' final round was highlighted by three birdies, two of those coming on both of the front nine par-fives. She ranked first in the field for par-five scoring, a promising stat to open the season. Payton Lovisa's round was also highlighted by three birdies, with two of those coming on the back nine. 

Marina Nonaka was the next best finisher for the Pack, posting a final round of five over-par 77, showing resilience following a tough start, playing the final nine holes in one under-par. Nonaka posted scores of 75-75-77=227 (+11) to finish in a tie for 45th. 

The final counting score of the final round came from freshman Mia McDowell, who played solid golf in her first showing for the Wolf Pack, contributing to the team score in two out of the three rounds. McDowell's final round was capped by one birdie on the eleventh hole, offset by six bogies, making only one score worse than bogey on the tournament. She finished tied for 57th at +15 (78-76-77=231). 

Rounding out the Pack performers was Amy Na, who struggled to find her birdie making form from the first two rounds, posting a final round 79 (+7) to finish in a tie for 70th. 

The Pack will return to action next Monday at the Connell Resources Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State.
