FRESHMAN (2024-25) - Marina Nonaka, a freshman for the Nevada Women's Golf team, brings an impressive international golf resume to the Wolf Pack. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, she has represented her country in multiple prestigious tournaments, including the South American Pre-Juvenile Championship, the Los Andes Team Championship, and the Women's Amateur Latin America Championship.
With a deep passion for golf, Marina has demonstrated remarkable perseverance and adaptability throughout her career. She has secured multiple victories in Brazilian tournaments, such as the Sao Paulo State Junior Championship and the Honda Open, and has consistently placed in the top rankings of national and international competitions. Her strong mental resilience and ability to perform under pressure make her a valuable addition to Nevada's golf program.
Beyond golf, Marina is an accomplished student, intending to pursue a degree in Business or Marketing. She values teamwork, discipline, and continuous self-improvement—qualities that she honed through years of competition and training with Team Brazil’s fitness program. A former classical ballet dancer for 10 years, she brings a unique blend of athleticism, dedication, and artistic discipline to her game.
