Berkeley, Calif. - Nevada Track and Field opened the outdoor track season, Saturday, delivering a strong all-around performance at the Cal Invitational in Berkeley, California, highlighted by multiple event victories, podium finishes, and notable marks.

In the field events, Nevada made a strong showing in the jumps and throws. Kaja Maltaric won the long jump with a mark of 5.91 meters. In the high jump, Hazel Gaspaire earned the event victory after clearing 1.72 meters, while Stina Larsson finished fourth at 1.62m and Mary Casserly placed sixth with a clearance of 1.57m. The pole vault saw a pair of second-place finishes, as Alyssa Carson and Adessa Matthews both cleared 3.55 meters. Stella White added a sixth-place finish at 3.40m, followed by Natalie Hobbs in seventh with a mark of 3.10m.

The throws were led by a standout performance in the javelin, where Hallee Hughes claimed first place with a throw of 50.90 meters, ranking fourth all-time in program history. Nevada added three more top-seven finishes in the event, with Ava Dierolf placing fifth at 39.33m, Dylan Graf finishing sixth with a throw of 38.36m, and Alma Kathan taking seventh at 33.94m.

On the track, Nevada earned a podium finish in the 3000m steeplechase, as Natalie Roberts finished second with a time of 10:59.31. In the 5000m, Aubrey Thompson placed third in 18:30.35, while Marina Renna followed closely behind in fourth with a time of 19:02.17.

The middle-distance events featured solid depth for the Wolf Pack. Kylee Denver finished eighth in the 1500m with a time of 4:33.57, while Skylar Bennett placed 26th in 4:51.78. Mary DeMartini recorded a ninth-place finish in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:15.88.

Nevada posted multiple top-15 finishes in the 400m, led by Halyn Senegal, who placed fifth in 55.12. Kylee Parsons finished seventh in 55.47, Malena Galvan placed ninth with a time of 56.78, and Jasmine Harris finished 15th in 59.88.

The hurdling events also produced strong results. In the 100m hurdles, Alma Kathan led the group with an eighth-place finish in 14.49, followed by Misa Holland in 10th at 14.62 and Anne Schuch in 15th with a time of 16.42. In the 400m hurdles, Oke Gift Ovedje placed sixth in 1:04.39, with Leylah Diaz finishing seventh in 1:04.90 and Caitlynn Holt taking eighth in 1:05.56.

Sprint performances were highlighted by Vivian Groppe, who finished 10th in the 100m with a time of 12.12 and added a sixth-place finish in the 200m at 24.92. Kylee Parsons placed seventh in the 200m with a time of 24.95, while Alma Kathan finished ninth in 25.12. Malena Galvan added a 13th-place finish in 25.39, followed by Misa Holland (21st, 26.04), Jasmine Harris (24th, 26.12), Amaya Chapman (26th, 26.75), and Anne Schuch (30th, 27.08).

The Pack will return next week at UCLA's meet in Los Angeles, California.
