Reno, Nev. - Nevada continued competition at the Nevada Invitational, Saturday, highlighted by
Annalies Kalma's 200m that clocks as the new #2 all-time 200m time.Â
Day two of the Nevada Invitational was kicked off by the high jump competition, where
Stina Larsson highlighted the group, setting a PR of 1.67m.
Hazel Gaspaire matched that mark, the pair placed 3rd overall in the event. Valeria Paez-Rueda was next best for the Pack, placing ninth, clearing the 1.62m mark. Rounding out the Pack performers were
Mary Casserly (1.57m) in 10th and
Johanna Haas (1.47m) in 15th.Â
Shot Put ran alongside the high jump competition to start the day, with
Johanna Haas taking the front for the Wolf Pack. Haas reached a 12.44m mark, placing her third overall.
Lilly Urban followed, throwing 10.92m.
Alma Kathan had another personal best, her second of the meet, throwing 10.43m and Valeria Paez-Rueda rounded out the throwers, reaching a 10.42m mark.Â
The 800m followed, with
Malena Galvan leading the way for the Wolf Pack contenders, running the second best time in the field, a 2:15.18, an impressive time for the freshman.
Skylar Bennett was next best for the Pack with a time of 2:18.09, followed by
Natalie Roberts (2:21.28) and
Mary DeMartini (2:31.92).Â
Annalies Kalma jumped up to #2 all-time in the 200m following her speedy 23.79 to place first at the Nevada Invitational.
Kylee Parsons was next best, setting a new personal best time of 24.68 to place 11th.
Vivian Groppe and
Jasmine Harris rounded out the Pack 200m sprinters running 24.99 and 25.86 respectively.Â
In the 600m the Pack were heavily represented, led by
Kylee Denver, who ran a great race, setting the third best time overall, a 1:37.41.
Alma Kathan continued her strong meet, posting a 1:40.93 to place 9th. The Pack then filled out positions 11 through 15, with
Leylah Diaz (1:42.13), Valeria Paez-Rueda (1:42.38),
Johanna Haas (1:42.88), Tristan Garner (1:43.33) and
Oke Gift Ovedje (1:43.40) taking those places.
Caitlynn Holt (1:46.18)Â and
Hazel Gaspaire (1:52.34) rounded out the Pack finishers.Â
Nevada triple jump specialists
Meekness Dogonyaro and
Kaja Maltaric both made their ways through to the finals on day two, with Maltaric reaching a new personal best mark of 12.06m, placing fourth. Dogonyaro found some early season form, winning the triple jump competition with a mark of 12.70m.Â
The 4x400m relays concluded competition at the Nevada Invitational with
Malena Galvan,
Kylee Parsons,
Jasmine Harris and
Annalies Kalma taking first overall with a time of 3:42.60, that time set the new #5 all-time mark. Nevada B,
Leylah Diaz,
Vivian Groppe,
Kylee Denver and
Caitlynn Holt ran a strong race, taking out their heat with a time of 3:58.16. Nevada C, Tristan Garner,
Natalie Roberts,
Mary DeMartini and
Skylar Bennett ran in heat 5 finishing with a time of 4:09.91.Â
The Pack will return to competition February 5-7 for the Wolf Pack Classic and Combined Event.Â
