Women's Cross Country Thomas Patterson

Key sets school record, Nevada places fifth and eighth at Saint Mary's College Invite

CONCORD, Calif. - Nevada Cross Country kicked off the 2026 campaign, Friday, placing eighth in the women's 6K and fifth in the men's 8K, highlighted by a school record from Austin Key and a multitude of personal best performances on a very fast course. 

Natalie Roberts led the way for the Wolf Pack in the women's 6K, running a huge personal best and 15th best all-time 21:16.5 to place 20th. Close behind was Aubrey Thompson, finishing 34th in 21:38.4, while Marina Renna rounded out the Pack's top-three scorers, taking 60th with a time of 22:07.9.

The Pack saw a strong group finish in the 60s and 70s, with Eleni Keriotis placing 70th in 22:18.2 and Samantha Toloti just behind in 72nd, crossing in 22:20.5. Sasha Livingston added a 95th-place finish with a time of 22:46.4.

Rounding out the Nevada performances were Skylar Bennett in 103rd (22:59.9), Crystal Hernandez, who notched a personal best time of 23:12.3 to place 108th, and Addison Phillips in 134th with a mark of 24:08.8.

The men were paced by Austin Key, who delivered a historic performance, placing fourth overall in 23:23.7 while breaking the school record and setting a new personal best. Nevada placed four runners inside the top 30, with Elijah Chavez finishing 23rd in a personal best 23:48.1 that ranks third all-time in program history, Cael Mattioli taking 25th in 23:53.8 to move to fourth all-time, and Eddie Yunker placing 27th in 23:56.4, a personal best that ranks fifth all-time.

The Pack's next scoring group finished inside the top 50, led by Jett Leavitt, who clocked a personal best 24:19.9 to place 47th. Dillon Walker followed closely behind in 49th, also recording a personal best with a time of 24:28.2.

Rounding out the Nevada performances were Matteo Delgadillo, who ran a personal best 24:51.3 to finish 70th, and Samuel Boedecker, who crossed the line in 25:23.0 to place 96th overall.

The Pack will next be in action at the Charles Bowles Invite in Salem, Oregon, October 3.
