Sean Yamaguchi was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The freshman honor is Yamaguchi's second of the season, and in three weeks. He first captured the honor March 31, while also taking the conference's player of the week honor, after a standout weekend against Washington State.

In Sunday's 12-2, seven-inning win over the Spartans, Yamaguchi went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, three runs scored, and a walk, opening Nevada's scoring with an RBI single in the fourth which started the Wolf Pack's comeback from down 2-0.
Yamaguchi is swinging a big bat in his first season in Mountain West play. The Aiea, Hawaii native is batting a team-best .362 in 12 conference games, sharing the team lead with five home runs while driving in 17 runs.
Nevada (20-15, 8-7 MW) takes on San Francisco this afternoon at 3:05 p.m. before resuming Mountain West play Thursday-Saturday at Washington State.
