RENO, Nev.- The Nevada Women's Golf team is back in action this week, heading to San Francisco to compete in the USF Invitational at the renowned Olympic Club Lake Course. The Pack enters the event with momentum following a strong showing at the Silicon Valley Showcase, finishing ahead of two ranked teams in UC Irvine and Boise State. Stanford, currently #1 in the rankings, will be present but only have individual qualifiers.
The USF's Lake Course is one of American golf's most storied and challenging tracks. Stretching over 6,054 yards and playing to a par 71, the course demands precision and management. Its narrow fairways, elevation changes, and small greens have tested the world's best, having hosted five U.S. Opens and numerous national championships.
The Invitational features a stacked field, including:
- #48 UC Davis
- #55 BYU
- #74 University of San Francisco
- #84 Cal Poly
- #85 UC Irvine
Nevada already has a competitive edge, having finished ahead of Cal Poly and UC Irvine at the Silicon Valley Showcase in their previous outing. The team looks to build on that performance and continue climbing the national ranks with a strong showing at the Olympic Club.
The Pack will look to navigate keyholes like the par-5 1st and 16th and the long par-4s like the 9th and 10th, which demand consistency off the tee and accuracy into the greens. With confidence and momentum, Nevada is ready to take on some of the West's top collegiate programs in one of the game's most iconic settings.
