RENO, Nev. – Nevada Men's Tennis gets its second different Freshman of the Week honoree of the season with
Axel Huysmans taking home his first career Mountain West Freshman of the Week award.

Huysmans went 4-2 over the Pack's three matches including a 3-0 record in singles play. He played at number four singles in two matches for the first time in his career.

The Mechelen, Belgium native picked up his first win of the week defeating Matias Rojas of New Mexico State, 6-2, 6-3 on court five.

Huysmans's doubles win came against Montana's Eivind Tandberg and Chris Zhang, beating the Griz 6-4 with his partner
Greg Valente. The victory was a key part of the team's doubles point win.

He completed a 2-0 dual against Montana playing on court four and defeating Johnny Wilkinson, 7-6 (3), 6-1.

Huysmans finished his weekend with a win over Hawai'i's Diego Dalisay, dominating the match, 6-1, 6-0. Huysmans improved to 4-1 in singles play during the spring season.

Nevada opens its home slate on Saturday with a noon match against Saint Mary's on Saturday, playing its first match at McArthur Tennis Center this season.
