RENO, Nev. - The middle of Nevada Men's Tennis' lineup dug deep and delivered in Friday's regular-season finale against No. 65 GCU, highlighted by Greg Valente's comeback, three-set victory at No. 4 to clinch the Wolf Pack's 4-3 win.

Valente and GCU's Daniel Jankoski slugged it out for nearly two-and-a-half hours at Court 4 with Jankoski outlasting Valente in the opening-set tiebreaker to take an early 7-6 (7) edge.

The teams split the first set over the six singles matches, giving the Lopes the early edge. For Nevada (10-10, 1-6 MW), Axel Huysmans rolled to a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Tristan Berard at No. 1, and the dual was tied up at 2-2 when Rémy Trégourès wrapped a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2.

As Valente battled his way back in the second set against Jankoski, teammate Nicolas Recoura was locked in a battle of his own at No. 5 against Brice Patoux. Recoura took the first set, 7-5, and all eyes turned to his and Valente's matches after GCU's (18-5, 3-4 MW) Andreas Loizas made it 3-2 with a win at No. 3.

Recoura evened things at 3-3, outlasting Patoux in a second-set tiebreaker for the 7-5, 7-6 (6) victory. A short time later, Valente closed out a 6-4 second set to force the dual-deciding third. With momentum firmly on his side, Valente dominated the deciding set, taking a quick lead and rolling to a 6-7 (7), 6-4, 6-2 victory to seal things.

Nevada will now head to Las Vegas for next week's 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship, where the Pack will face No. 1 Utah State Wednesday, April 22, at 1 p.m.
