Kadiri earns second Mountain West Player of the Week award of February

RENO, Nev. – Nevada Men's Tennis star, Youssef Kadiri, was named Mountain West Player of the Week, Wednesday. The title is Kadiri's second of the month and second of his career.

Kadiri finished the week 3-1 in singles and doubles play, including three consecutive victories to end the weekend. The Casablanca native opened his winning weekend with a 6-2, 6-2 top-flight win over Texas Tech's Piotr Pawlak. The win cracked Kadiri into the Nevada single-season victories list with 21.

Reuniting with his fall doubles partner, Lucas Hammond, Kadiri defeated Florida Gulf Coast's Hugo Magnusson and CJ Smith on court one, 6-1. The victory moved Kadiri and Hammond into fifth place for most doubles victories by a duo in a single season.

Kadiri's weekend wrapped with another top-flight victory, defeating Magnusson 6-4, 6-4 to help lead the Pack to a 4-0 win over the Eagles.

Kadiri is the first player in program history to win multiple Mountain West Player of the Week awards in the same season.

The Wolf Pack return to play tomorrow with a neutral-site dual against Cal Poly in La Jolla. Nevada will then send four doubles pairs to the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club; the tournament begins Friday.
