SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Nevada Women's Golf team performed well at the Causeway Invitational, securing a 7th-place finish in a competitive field at the Del Paso Country Club. The two-day, 54-hole tournament featured 35 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, with a shotgun starting each day at 8:30 a.m. PT. The event was played on a challenging par-72 course stretching 6,143 yards.
Nevada posted a total team score of 587 (+11), counting the best four scores from its five-player lineup across both rounds. The Wolf Pack competed against a strong field that included several nationally recognized programs, with Oregon State and Sacramento State sharing the top spot on the leaderboard at -14.

Individual Performances
Leading the way for Nevada was Nikki Chindavong, who delivered an impressive performance across all three rounds. Chindavong opened the tournament with a standout round of 70 (-2), one of the lowest scores of the day. She followed that up with a 73 (+1) on the second day, bringing her tournament total to 143 (-1) across 36 holes. Chindavong's consistent play earned her an 8th-place finish individually, showcasing her ability to stay composed under tournament pressure and lead by example for her teammates.
Gabby Kano followed closely behind, finishing with a two-round total of 146 (+2). Kano started strong with an even-par 72 in the first round, followed by a 74 (+2) on the second day. Her steady presence in both rounds provided crucial points toward Nevada's team score. Kano's ability to manage the course effectively was evident, particularly in her short game, where she capitalized on key birdie opportunities. She finished tied for 21st individually.
Raesa Sheikh posted a solid 148 (+4) over the two days. Sheikh started with a challenging first round of 75 (+3) but showed remarkable resilience by bouncing back with a 73 (+1) in the final round. Her improvement highlighted her adaptability and focus, particularly on the back nine, where she consistently managed par saves and limited mistakes. Sheikh finished tied for 37th overall.
Anna Shultse remained consistent across both rounds, carding identical scores of 75 (+3) each day for 150 (+6). Her steady performance helped solidify Nevada's position on the leaderboard, providing reliable contributions to the team's overall score. Shultse's ability to stay even-keeled, especially on the longer holes, was key to maintaining the team's competitive edge. She placed tied for 45th individually.
Amy Na overcame a tough first round of 87 (+15) but significantly improved on the second day with a much stronger round of 78 (+6), cutting nine strokes off her score. Na's second-round effort demonstrated determination and growth as she adapted to the course's challenges. Her closing stretch on the back nine highlighted her potential, as she finished with back-to-back pars to cap off her round. She finished 70th overall with a total of 165 (+21).
Competing as individuals, Marina Nonaka and Payton Lovisa also participated in the tournament but did not contribute to Nevada's team score. Nonaka posted rounds of 85 and 84 for 169 (+25), gradually improving as the event progressed, finishing 73rd overall. Unfortunately, Lovisa did not complete all rounds and could not register an official score.
