RENO, Nev. — Nevada freshman Naima Castro has been named to the Mountain West All-Newcomer Team, earning conference-wide recognition for her standout debut season. Castro is the only Women's Soccer student-athlete to receive All-Newcomer honors this year.

A dynamic presence on the pitch, Castro made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, tallying 11 points with five goals and one assist. Her performance earned her Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors in September, marking a key milestone in her early career.

Castro's selection to the All-Newcomer Team reflects her consistency, competitiveness, and ability to rise in high-pressure moments. Her contributions helped elevate Nevada's attack throughout their campaign. 

The Mountain West All-Newcomer Team recognizes the top first-year players across the conference, and Castro's inclusion places her among the league's most exciting young athletes.
