Head Women's Soccer Coach Jeremy Evans Announces Assistant Coaches

RENO, Nev. — Nevada Women's Soccer head coach Jeremy Evans announced his coaching staff on January 7, naming Jenn Kovisto and Lauren Wolcott assistant coaches for 2026.

"I am beyond excited to be adding Lauren and Jenn as assistant coaches on my staff at Nevada. They exhibit the quality and character needed to elevate our program within the Mountain West Conference. Additionally, both are committed to providing a positive student-athlete experience for our players and their goal for the program aligns with mine: to compete for a Mountain West Conference championship, "Head Coach Jeremy Evans.

Wolcott arrives in Reno following a successful tenure at Stanislaus State, where she played a key role in elevating the Warriors to conference prominence.

Wolcott joined Stanislaus State in 2022 as the program's top assistant coach. She was then promoted to associate head coach.  In just her second season, she helped guide the Warriors to a share of the CCAA regular season title, contributing to one of the program's strongest campaigns in recent years. Under her leadership, Stanislaus State produced six All‑CCAA honorees, including CCAA Newcomer of the Year Alexis Brewah and CCAA Midfielder of the Year Sabrina Cabrera. Both Brewah and Cabrera went on to earn United Soccer Coaches All‑West Region recognition in the summer of 2023. The Warriors would win 39 matches over her four seasons in Turlock. For the class of 2024 Wolcott was also named to the prestigious United Soccer Coaches 30 under 30 program.

Before transitioning into coaching, Wolcott competed professionally in Portugal for Racing Power Football Club, gaining international experience that now informs her coaching approach. She began her collegiate playing career under Evans at Lake Tahoe Community College, where she served as team captain and earned Academic All‑American honors. Before her career at LTCC, Wolcott was a five-year starter for the University of Colorado women's club team where she was named to the All-Tournament team and Offensive MVP in her fifth year. Wolcott later graduated from Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology.

Wolcott also holds a U.S. Soccer Federation C License and brings youth development experience from her time coaching with Boulder County Soccer Club in Colorado.

Evans on Wolcott: "Lauren is a passionate coach with a proven track record of developing players and turning Stanislaus State into one of the most competitive programs in the CCAA. She is a well-connected recruiter in Northern California, which is a key area in attracting soccer talent to Nevada."

Jenn Kovisto enters her second season at Nevada, continuing her rise within the Wolf Pack staff. Kovisto joined the program ahead of the 2025 campaign and immediately made an impact, taking on goalkeeper development. Her coaching foundation is rooted in an accomplished playing career at Southern Utah, where she served as team captain and starting goalkeeper, posted the highest winning percentage in program history during Spring 2021, ranked third all‑time in single‑season goals‑against average (1.15), and secured the program's first Division I road win in four years.

Kovisto's coaching reflects the same competitive drive she displayed as a player. At Southern Utah, she helped guide the Thunderbirds to their first conference tournament appearance in 15 years while overseeing all goalkeeper performance and contributing to defensive organization through set‑piece planning. She also played a key role in the program's technological advancement, managing video setup and distribution for training and matches and overseeing heart‑rate monitoring systems to support athlete performance.

Kovisto brings to Nevada a blend of tactical expertise, player‑centered development, and operational leadership that strengthens the Wolf Pack's staff as the program enters a new era.

Evans on Kovisto: "Jenn is an outstanding goalkeeper coach, which is important, but most importantly she exhibits the passion, energy, and character required to motivate and inspire players into becoming the best version of themselves."
