Jeremy Evans named Nevada Women’s Soccer Head Coach

RENO, Nev. – Jeremy Evans, who since 2015 built the Lake Tahoe Community College men's and women's soccer programs into regional and national powers, has been named the next Nevada Women's Soccer head coach, Director of Athletics Stephanie Rempe announced Monday.

LTCC went 144-47-26 (.724) in Evans' 10 seasons (there was no season in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) overseeing the women's program, a mark which includes a 93-9-3 (.900) record in Golden Valley Conference (GVC) play, and led the Coyotes to eight-straight GVC titles (2017-19, 2021-25) and a pair of CCCAA Final Four appearances (2018-19). In 2019, the Coyotes became just the fourth women's junior college program to be ranked first nationally, a position it held for six-straight weeks.

From 2017-24, the Coyotes went 71-0 in GVC play, outscoring its opponents 504-9, and did not concede a goal in conference action from 2019-23.

"I'm thrilled to announce Jeremy as our new head coach. Jeremy has deep ties to our region and is known for his passion, tireless work ethic, and commitment to building winning programs. His success at LTCC speaks for itself and we look forward to supporting him as he builds a championship program at Nevada," said Rempe. "The soccer community will feel the impact of Jeremy as our new coach!"

Evans owns a combined career record of 209-90-44 (.674) while overseeing both programs at LTCC in addition to being a six-time Golden Valley Conference Coach of the Year, two-time California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA) Northern California Coach of the Year and a two-time finalist for the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Junior College Division III National Coach of the Year.

"I'm incredibly honored and grateful to be named the Women's Soccer coach at the University of Nevada. I want to thank President Brian Sandoval and Athletic Director Stephanie Rempe for this opportunity," Evans said. "It was clear early in the process we have a shared vision to elevate Nevada Women's Soccer within the Mountain West Conference. Nevada is a special place, and I'm ready to bring my skillset, energy and passion to campus.

I also want to thank Lake Tahoe Community College for giving me my first college coaching opportunity. We worked tirelessly for almost a decade turning the women's program into one of the most competitive in California that is nationally recognized and respected. I wish them all the best," Evans added.

The Coyote women were ranked nationally in at least one USC national poll from 2017-22, and from 2017-19 held a top-10 spot in 25-consecutive USC national polls with 20 weeks in a row in the top-5. Four times since 2017 his side finished a campaign in the USC national top 10, most recently a final ranking of No. 6 in 2024.

Evans' ability to develop talent has been evident with over 90 percent of his LTCC sophomores receiving four-year offers and over 70 percent transferring to four-year programs at all levels. He produced a combined 28 GVC Players of the Year and 90 All-GVC selections, eight USC All-Americans including five first-teamers, 11 USC West Region performers including five selections to the First Team, and one NCAA Division II national champion in Rebecca Niblett (Bridgeport University, 2018).

In 2019 Evans added men's head coach duties at LTCC. Four years later, he guided the Coyote men to its first GVC title in eight years en route to being named 2023 GVC Men's Coach of the Year. That same season the LTCC men became the first No. 16 seed to defeat the top seed in the CCCAA NorCal Regional Playoffs. Over his men's soccer tenure, Evans guided the Coyotes to a 65-43-18 mark and never finished outside of the GVC top three.

Prior to arriving at LTCC, Evans was a two-time Nevada Division I-A State Coach of the Year, leading South Tahoe High School to consecutive state titles in 2013 and 2014 and compiling a 38-5-4 career record (.810). His 2013 team finished 15th in the NSCAA Region VI Fall Rankings (encompassing California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, Idaho) and No. 1 in Nevada (all classifications) in 2013 by MaxPreps.com.

Evans holds a USSF "B" License and previously served South Tahoe Futbol Club as Director of Coaching, Technical Director, and as a staff coach. He also served as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) staff coach in Northern Nevada.

Evans played collegiately at Marquette from 1998-2000 after transferring from Phoenix College (1995-97), an NJCAA program. He played semi-professionally for the Northern Arizona Prospectors in the Premier Development League (PDL) and is a former member of the Arizona-based Tucson United and Cisco soccer clubs.

A 2000 graduate of Marquette, Evans earned his Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in 2010 from Sierra Nevada University, now known as the University of Nevada at Lake Tahoe.
