FRESNO, Calif. — The University of Nevada Women's Swimming team opened its conference slate with a commanding 162-138 victory over Fresno State on Saturday afternoon at the Fresno State Aquatics Center. The Wolf Pack delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, winning 11 of 16 events and setting six new facility records in a meet that showcased elite speed, depth, and historic performances.

Nevada took control early, claiming wins in three of the first four events.  Starting off the individual races, the Pack claimed first and second in the 1,000 Freestyle with Keira Allott securing the win in 10:08.63 which was within one second of the pool record and senior Isabelle Gomez securing the silver. Then Senior Huska Batbayar won the event and broke the pool record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.08. Sophomore Scarlett Ferris followed with another aquatic center record-breaking swim in the 100-yard backstroke, touching in 52.13. The 100 Breast was highlighted by 3rd and 5th place finishes by Juniors Mihalic and Kerr. Jinjutha Pholjamjumrus added her name to Nevada history with a 1:56.35 in the 200-yard butterfly, breaking the pool record and posting the second-fastest time in program history with Sally Vagg securing second place. Wrapping up the first session of events, Nevada finished 2nd and 3rd with Juniors Ferris and Floate. 

The Nevada divers showcased their depth with Bailey Heydra leading the Pack to wins on both the 1 meter and 3 meter boards. Nevada also claimed 4th through 7th on the 3-meter and 1-meter boards highlighted by Freshmen Izzy Wright finishing 4th on 1-meter and Freshman Citlali Ruiz Rocandio finishing 4th on 3-meter

The 100 Free was a close race with Batbayar narrowly touching out Fresno in a 49.64. The 200 Backstroke was highlighted by Molly Von Seggern in a 1:58.40, narrowly missing her personal best by .01 seconds. The 200 Breaststrokers came in strong with 3rd and 4th place finishes from Mihalic and Kerr. The 500 Freestyle was another 1-2 finish for the Wolf Pack with Batbayar and Allott. Ferris returned to dominate the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a personal best 52.66 to set her second facility record of the day. Pholjamjumrus wrapped up the individual events for the day with a win in the 400 IM with a 4:13.84, another aquatic center record!

Nevada closed the meet with a statement win in the 400-yard freestyle relay breaking Cal's previous pool record with a 3:19.76.Ferris led off the relay in a new school record in the 100 Free with a 49.00.

With this dual meet win, Nevada extends its all time record against Fresno State to 15-1. Nevada is now 3-0 for the season and 1-0 in Mountain West action. The Pack will be back swimming and diving in a few weeks at the Phil Hansel Invitational in Houston, Texas.
