RENO, Nev. – Nevada Swimming and Diving collected two Mountain West weekly honors after a dominant weekend in Northern California, with Sienna Walo earning Mountain West Freshman of the Week and Citlali Ruiz Rocandio being named Mountain West Diver of the Week.
Walo continued her impressive start to the season by winning every individual event she competed in during Nevada's victories over UC Davis and San José State. The freshman currently leads the Mountain West's fastest times in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard breaststroke, while also setting two pool records in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle at San José State. Walo's versatility across sprint freestyle and breaststroke events continues to make her one of the conference's top newcomers and a key contributor to Nevada's early-season success.
Ruiz Rocandio earned Mountain West Diver of the Week honors after another standout showing on the boards. The sophomore captured first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 297.08 while finishing second in the 1-meter competition. Her winning 3-meter performance produced an NCAA Zone Qualifying score, highlighting another strong outing for the Wolf Pack diving program.
Ruiz Rocandio's performance helped Nevada continue its strong start to the season as the Wolf Pack secured victories in both dual meets and added two more conference honors to an already successful fall campaign.
