Reno, Nev. - Long Jump kicked off Day Two of the Nevada Invitational/Multis hosted by Nevada at Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
Meekness Dogonyaro led the way for the Pack, jumping 5.62m, a PR, to make it to the final. In the final....
Natasha Chetty was next best, getting out to the 5.38m mark, placing 21st. Rounding out the Pack long jumpers was
Isabella Minoletti, who set a PR mark, 5.20m, to place 31st in a strong field of long jumpers.
The second event of the day was the High Jump, where
Stina Larsson and
Hazel Gaspaire competed for the Pack. Gaspaire entered the competition at 1.58m, clearing that mark and also 1.63m before not clearing the 1.68m mark.
Stina Larsson entered at 1.48m, clearing it, 1.53m, 1.58m and 1.63m before not clearing the 1.68m mark. Larsson's mark of 1.63m is a personal best.
There was one Wolf Pack runner in the Mile, Natalie Roberts ran a 5:18.53 to finish in 7th place.
400m was the next event for the Wolf Pack, where three Nevada runners competed.
Jasmine Harris was the best finisher for the Pack, finishing in 15th with a time of 59.01. Less than a second behind was
Natasha Chetty, who placed 17th with a time of 59.64. Rounding out the 400m runners was
Leylah Diaz who ran a 1:00.12 to finish in 20th. 800m followed and the Pack had two runners who ran a very tight race,
Kylee Denver and
Mary DeMartini. Denver placed 3rd with a time of 2:17.16 and DeMartini was right behind in 4th with a time of 2:20.09.
Nevada had three long distance runners in the 3000m,
Claire Nelson was the best of the bunch running a 10:24.97 to place 6th. Behind her in 10th place was Marina Renna, who ran a 10:39.77. Aubrey Thompson did not finish.
In the Pole Vault was
Kyra Thornhill and
Natalie Hobbs, who both cleared the 3m and 3.15m marks before failing to get over the 3.30m mark.
The Wolf Pack had six runners in the 200m Dash, where two personal bests were set, by
Leylah Diaz (26.37) and
Savana Chalmers (26.44) who finished 46 and 48th respectively.
Jasmine Harris was next best for the Pack, finishing in 50th with a time of 26.58. Following Harris was
McKenzie Milton who ran a 27.25 and
Caitlynn Holt who ran a 27.51.
The day wrapped up with the Distance Medley Relay where
Kylee Denver,
Mary DeMartini,
Caitlynn Holt and Natalie Roberts competed in a three team race, finishing with a time of 12:43.79 to place 3rd.
The Wolf Pack will be back in action tomorrow at 10:30am for the final day of the Nevada Invitational/Multis at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
