Los Angeles, Calif. - Nevada Track and Field posted several standout performances at the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival & Jim Bush Legends Invitational hosted by UCLA, highlighted by two victories, multiple podium finishes, personal bests, and all-time program marks.
The Wolf Pack led the way in the throws, where, on day one, the javelin produced a strong showing across the board. Lilly Urban claimed the event title with a winning throw of 54.83m, while Hallee Hughes earned a runner-up finish at 50.69m. Nevada added two more top-10 finishes in the event, with Ava Dierolf placing eighth at 38.65m and Dylan Graf finishing ninth with a mark of 38.04m.
On the track, Natalie Roberts delivered a first-place finish in the 1500m, winning the race in 4:44.89. The sprint events were highlighted by Annalies Kalma, who earned a third-place finish in the 200m while setting a personal record of 23.61. Vivian Groppe competed in both the 100m and 200m, placing 18th in the 100m with a time of 12.05 and 28th in the 200m at 24.92.
Nevada's middle-distance runners were led by Kylee Denver in the 800m, who finished eighth with a time of 2:11.14. Skylar Bennett placed 31st in 2:17.32, while Mary DeMartini finished 38th with a time of 2:19.89. The 400m also saw multiple Wolf Pack athletes competing, with Halyn Senegal leading the group in eighth place at 55.21, followed closely by Kylee Parsons in ninth at 55.34. Malena Galvan placed 16th with a time of 56.26, and Jasmine Harris finished 33rd in 59.16.
In the hurdle events, Alma Kathan placed 17th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.53, while Misa Holland finished 21st in 14.84.
The jumps were another area of strength for Nevada. Kaja Maltaric recorded a pair of solid performances, placing 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 11.91 meters before earning a third-place finish in the long jump at 6.08m, which ranks third all-time in program history. Alma Kathan followed closely behind in the long jump, finishing fourth with a jump of 6.04m, good for fifth all-time at Nevada. In the high jump, Hazel Gaspaire placed sixth after clearing 1.68m, while Stina Larsson finished 10th with a mark of 1.63m.
The Nevada 4x400m relay team of Kylee Parsons, Annalies Kalma, Malena Galvan and Halyn Senegal put on a scorching display, running a 3:39.40 to place second. That time is the second best 4x400m time in Nevada school history.Â
The Pack will return to action at the Berkeley for the Cal Brutus Hamilton, Mike Fanelli Classic and Stanford Invite next week.
