Wolf Pack set to face stacked UC Santa Barbara squad, on Sunday

RENO, Nev. - Nevada Men's Tennis returns to the courts on Sunday, as they take on UC Santa Barbara, a squad boasting five ranked players.

Nevada (2-0) looks to remain undefeated as they head to Arnhold Tennis Center on the scenic campus of UC Santa Barbara. UC Santa Barbara (1-0) is coming off of an impressive win over Oklahoma State. The Gauchos defeated the Cowboys 4-3 but held a 4-0 lead at the time they clinched the dual.

The Gauchos are led by Gianluca Brunkow, ranked 21st in the country. Brunkow holds a 6-4 through the fall and spring season, with all four losses coming against ranked opponents. Brunkow boasts a ranked win of his own, defeating TCU's Pedro Vives, then ranked 37th. Brunkow lost his match against Oklahoma State's #108 Isaac Bencroft, 6-3, 6-4.

Supporting Brunkow are four other ranked singles players: #65 Diogo Morais, #94 Dominique Rolland, #117 Conrad Brown, and #122 Lucca Liu. 

Rolland, a junior from Calabasas, Calif., won his fall season opener against Illinois' Karlis Ozolins, 6-4, 6-2. Ozolins was ranked eighth in the country at the time. Playing No. 2 singles for UC Santa Barbara, Rolland won his singles match on Wednesday, 6-2, 6-4. 

Liu also owns a ranked win from 2024, coming against UCLA's #104 Aadarsh Tripathi where Liu came back from down a set to beat Tripathi. Liu is 5-3 overall and lost his match against Oklahoma State.

Brunkow and Rolland form the 37th ranked doubles pair in the country, holding a 3-1 record this season. They won their match on Wednesday, 6-3. The Gaucho pair qualified for the ITA West Section Championships as a pair and individually in singles.
