Box Score RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Nevada women's volleyball kicked off the Riverside Classic with a dominant performance, sweeping CSUN in straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-20) at the Van Dyne Gym.
The Wolf Pack showed remarkable balance across the board, especially both outside hitters contributing. Carissa Chainey leading offensively with 13 kills. Not very far from her Gabby McLaughlin with 10 kills. Middle blocker Bella Snyder also put up a big performance with 12 kills with an impressive .588 hitting percentage. Both setters Tehya Maeva and Sierra Bernard distributed 30 assists, 15 each, to help facilitate the offense.
Defensively, Kinsley Singleton anchored the back row with 12 digs, while McLaughlin added six digs to round out her effort. Nevada's defense held CSUN to a .286 hitting percentage, effectively limiting their offensive production throughout the match.
A key moment came in the second set when Nevada went on a 5-1 run, pushing ahead to claim the set 25-19. In the third set, the Wolf Pack maintained their momentum, with critical kills from Snyder and McLaughlin to secure the final points of the match.
The win improved Nevada's record to 5-2 on the season. They look to carry this momentum into their second match of the day, where they will face host California Baptist at 6:00 p.m. tonight.
