RENO, Nev. - Nevada Volleyball kicks off the 2026 season this weekend, heading to Portland, Oregon to face Portland and Portland State. 

The Pack will play in two road games over two days, this Saturday and Sunday. Nevada will play Portland at 1 PM at the Chiles Center and match up against Portland State at Viking Pavilion also at 1 PM.

This weekend marks the first official games for new Head Coach Jason Borchin and his staff, entering the year with a revamped roster that includes several key additions through the transfer portal, highlighted by outside hitter Paige Thies, transferring to the Pack from Arizona. Thies was the number one recruit out of Oregon and will add huge arm power to the Nevada lineup this season. 

The Pack will be looking to revamp after a difficult year last year, while returning Mckaley Herr, last year's number two in kills, averaging 2.58 kills per set, Jess Walkenhorst, who showed promise as an opposite hitter, and Kamryn Tifft, who will look to build off last season's .160 hitting percentage. On the defensive side, Nevada returns Masyn Navarro at libero and enters the season with a strong core at middle, with Ceren Sert returning along with newcomers Karly Bonaventure (Freshman) and local product Sabrina Jones (Junior). The Pack has plenty of depth at the setter position with Ambri Hanohano returning with two newcomers Adriana Dorn, a top recruit out of Ripon, California, and Keely Hummel, a transfer from Fresno State. 

Taking a look at this week's opponents, Portland were picked ninth in the West Coast Conference preseason rankings following a 14-15 record last season. They had one of the best setter-outside partnerships in the WCC last season and they both return in the 2026 season. Portland State were picked eighth in the Big Sky preseason poll following a 11-17 record last season. They return all five starters and their libero from last season's lineup. 

Nevada will kick off the season in the Pacific Northwest before heading over the hill to play in Sacramento State's tournament next weekend.
