RENO, Nev. – Nevada Women's Tennis sophomore
Amahée Charrier was named to the 2024 All-Mountain West Women's Tennis Singles Team.
Â
Charrier, earning her second all-conference singles team in as many seasons with the Pack, finished the regular season with a 16-12 overall singles record, including a 9-6 spring dual record. Charrier finished the Mountain West campaign with a 3-2 record, including key wins over to close season over Utah State's Zeynep Ozturk, 7-5, 6-2, and Boise State's Pauline Ernstberger, 7-5, 6-2. Charrier's token Mountain West victory came against No. 71-ranked Andjela Skrobonja, defeating the San Diego State Aztec, 6-4, 6-4.
Â
To open the dual season, Charrier defeated UC Davis's Arianna Stavropoulos in comeback fashion, 1-6, 7-5, 6-1, clinching the Wolf Pack's first win of a historic season. Charrier's other notable victories from the season include defeating Western Michigan's Lindsey Zieglar, 6-2, 6-2, in a neutral-match win over the Broncos in Tucson, Ariz., 4-1. Charrier also defeated Elizabeth Strongina of Portland State, 6-3, 6-1, her first of three home victories, leading the Pack to an undefeated 5-0 record at McArthur Tennis Center.
Â
Charrier was named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team in 2023 when she was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year. Charrier now holds a 25-18 career singles record, including an 18-12 record in duals and a 5-5 Mountain West record. Charrier is the fourth player in Nevada Women's Tennis history to be named to multiple All-Mountain West singles teams, joining Michelle Okhremchuk, Sheila Morales, and Claudia Herrero.
Â
The Wolf Pack begin their Mountain West Championship run on Thursday Morning at 10 a.m. PT when they take on the No. 4 seed UNLV Rebels for a Silver State series rematch. Earlier this season, Nevada erased a 3-1 deficit in Las Vegas and looked to complete the comeback before the Rebels made a third-set comeback to win the dual, 4-3.
