RENO, Nev. - Nevada Women's Tennis got back in the win column on Friday after holding off Wyoming, 4-2.
The Pack (5-7, 1-2 MW) quickly took the lead after securing the doubles point. The duo of
Wiem Boubaker and
Kennedy Robinson kicked things off with a 6-0 win over Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia and Ruby Young. Amahée Charrier and
Petra Janigova followed it up by defeating Eugenia Ceinos and Dilnaz Mashabayeva, 6-3.
Nevada found itself up 3-0 after
Kariman Buqai defeated Serina Abriola in straight sets, both 6-2, and Charrier also won in two over Kochelaevskaia, 6-1, 6-3.Â
Wyoming (8-5, 1-2 MW) attempted a comeback, winning the next two points as Foerster fell to Bijlsma, 2-6, 4-6, and Robinson lost her match to Borodina, 1-6, 6-3, 4-6.
Both Boubaker and Janigova forced their matches into three sets. With match point on the line, Janigova defeated Orlova, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 and secured the victory for the Pack.
Nevada will remain at home to face Colorado State on Sunday at 12 p.m.
