STANFORD, Calif. – The Pack wrapped its first day competing in both the Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, hosted by San Francisco State where
Magdalene George moved her way up on the Nevada all-time list in the 200 meters,
Sarah Marske qualified for the 100-meter hurdles final, and
Rayven Nealey took first place overall in the collegiate section of the long jump.
Stanford Invitational
Friday afternoon kicked off with
Sarah Marske earning a spot in the 100-meter hurdles final after qualifying fourth in the prelim with a time of 13.82. The final will take place bright and early Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Annalies Kalma led the way in the 400 meters, placing fifth with a time of 54.96. Behind her was
Kylee Parsons who placed 12
th in a new personal record time of 56.26. Lilly Gregg (57.79) was 26
th.
Kylie Burton (20
th) and
Brynn McNabb represented the Pack in the 400-meter hurdles, running times of 1:03.79 and 1:05.02 respectively.
On the field, javelin thrower
Lilly Urban made her collegiate debut in the javelin invite section, placing eighth with a Nevada personal record mark of 40.88 meters. In the long jump collegiate section,
Rayven Nealey took the crown in the event, being able to take first place with her furthest mark of 5.87 meters.
Magdalene George posted a third-place finish in the 200 meters with a personal record time of 24.11, moving up on the all-time list in the event to now sit as the fifth-fastest in school history. Bonét Henderson (14
th) and Kalma (19
th) were not far behind George, sneaking into the top-20 in the event, running times of 24.79 and 25.00.
Natasha Chetty was 22
nd with a time of 25.04 while Parsons ran her second personal record of the day in 25.23. Gregg (25.66) and Marske (25.72) rounded out the squad in 31
st and 32
nd.
Mike Fanelli Track Classic
Valeria Paez Rueda and
Johanna Haas started the day at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic competing in the 100-meter hurdles where Paez Rueda earned a top-eight finish in seventh (15.32) while Haas claimed 19
th (17.10). Paez Rueda and Haas continued their day in the long jump, both posting top-8 finishes. Paez Rueda (5.23m) earned a sixth-place finish while Haas (5.12m) placed eighth.
Jasmine Harris represented the Pack in the 100-meter dash where she placed 33
rd in a time of 13.55. In the 1500 meters,
Hannah Lee earned the highest finish for Nevada in 68
th, with a time of 4:50.69.
Madelyn Shipman (4:55.37) was 91
st.
To end the day on the track,
Paige Penrose ran a new outdoor personal record in the 5,000 meters in a time of 17:29.88, placing 50
th overall.
