This Week in Wolf Pack Athletics

RENO, Nev. - Seven Wolf Pack teams see action this week starting with women's golf, women's tennis, and men's tennis. Softball hosts a doubleheader Tuesday with another doubleheader set for Thursday and the series finale Friday, while baseball goes on the road to start the week and finishes up at home Thursday-Saturday. Tennis is in full swing wrapping up the last week of non-conference play in Reno and on the road, while men's and women's golf continue action in California.

Four teams are tied atop the Mountain West standings at 6-3, and two of those squads face off this Easter weekend at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park.

Nevada (11-11, 6-3 MW) hosts Air Force (10-14, 6-3 MW) for a three-game set beginning Thursday at 2:05 p.m., and continuing with a 2:05 p.m. contest Friday and a 1:05 p.m. finale Saturday.

From there, Nevada remains home, hosting Sacramento State Tuesday at 6 p.m. in midweek, non-conference action.

Saturday's series finale against Air Force will be aired locally on Nevada Sports Net and streamed on The Mountain West Network (www.themw.com/watch). The series will also be broadcast locally on 630 AM KPLY, while audio broadcasts of all four games can be found on The Varsity Network at www.thevarsitynetwork.com and through The Varsity Network app, with John Ramey on the call.

Nevada sits at the top of the Mountain West standings at 5-1. New Mexico sits at eighth at 2-4. 

Nevada (27-7, 5-1 MW) hosts New Mexico (10-27, 2-4 MW) for a three-game series set beginning with a doubleheader Thursday at 12 p.m. with the second game set for approximately 3:30 p.m., or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Friday's series finale is set for 1 p.m. All games will stream on the Mountain West Network (www.themw.com/watch). 

From there, Nevada will head to Logan, Utah for a Wednesday doubleheader against the Utah State Aggies. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. PT (1 p.m. MT) and the second game at 2:30 p.m. PT. 

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Following a 6-1 victory over Portland State on Tuesday, the Wolf Pack (7-7, 1-3 MW) resume their Mountain West schedule with two home matches this weekend. The Pack welcome Colorado State (7-6, 3-1 MW) for a noon match on Friday, March 29. The Rams are on a two match winning streak with wins coming over Utah State and Boise State. Early fans will receive a University of Nevada 150th anniversary t-shirt. 

On Saturday, Nevada takes on Fresno State (8-8, 2-0 MW) at McArthur Tennis Center at noon. The Bulldogs are on a two-match winning streak of their own, defeating Air Force and Utah State to start their Mountain West season. Fresno State boasts the reigning Mountain West Freshman of the week, Eliza Dunbar. 

Admission to both matches is free for all spectators.  

MEN'S TENNIS
The Wolf Pack (4-9) begins its Mountain West schedule by continuing their Colorado trip at Air Force (5-8). Both Nevada and Air Force are coming off of losses to ranked Denver. The Pack fell 6-1, to No. 43 Denver while Air Force lost 5-2 to the Pioneers nearly two weeks ago. The match can be watched live HERE.

On Sunday, the Pack welcome San Diego State (11-3) to McArthur Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. first serve. The Aztecs are riding a three-match winning streak with wins against Tulane, Texas Tech, and Portland. Admission to Sunday's match is free for everyone. 

TRACK AND FIELD 
The Pack will continue the 2024 outdoor season competing at both the Stanford Invitational. hosted by Stanford, and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, hosted by San Francisco State. Nevada is coming off a third-place team finish at the Aztec Invitational last weekend, where they scored 77 points total, highlighted by Annalies Kalma running the fourth-best time in Nevada school history in the 400 meters and Magdalene George moved up a spot on the list in the 100 meters, where she now sits tied for sixth fastest.
