Nevada has six named to the NFCA All-Mountain Region Teams

RENO, Nev. – Nevada Softball had six players named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All‑Mountain Region teams following a historic 2026 season. Hannah Di Genova and Madison Clark earned First Team honors, Katie Wetteland and Tess Bumiller were selected to the Second Team, and Haylee Engelbrecht along with Talia Tretton were named to the Third Team.

Di Genova, the 2026 Mountain West Player of the Year, delivered one of the most dominant offensive seasons in the country. The first baseman hit .424 with a 1.451 OPS, launching 26 home runs and driving in 85 RBIs across 59 starts. She led the Pack in slugging percentage (.946) and total bases (174), while also posting a .505 on‑base percentage. Di Genova's elite combination of power, plate discipline, and defensive steadiness earned her a well‑deserved spot on the NFCA First Team.

Clark, one of the most dynamic hitters in the Mountain West, put together a breakout junior campaign. She led Nevada with a .458 batting average, ranking among the top hitters nationally, and recorded 99 hits, 58 runs, and 31 stolen bases while starting 58 games. Her ability to impact the game in every phase earned her NFCA First Team honors as a second baseman.

Wetteland emerged as one of the top freshmen in the region, earning NFCA Second Team recognition after hitting .400 with a 1.176 OPS in her debut season. She tallied 70 hits, 12 doubles, 4 triples, and 10 home runs, driving in 49 RBIs. Wetteland's advanced approach at the plate and consistent production made her one of the most impactful first‑year players in the Mountain West.

Bumiller delivered a strong senior season in the circle, earning a Second Team selection. Bumiller logged 111.0 innings, recording 12 wins, 60 strikeouts, and three complete games. Her reliability was central to Nevada's success throughout the season.

Engelbrecht earned NFCA Third Team honors after another productive year anchoring Nevada's infield. The senior hit .366 with a 1.068 OPS, recording 68 hits, 18 doubles, and 10 home runs while driving in 42 RBIs. She also posted a .958 fielding percentage across 215 chances, showcasing her consistency on both sides of the ball.

Tretton rounded out Nevada's selections with a Third Team nod following a competitive sophomore campaign. She hit .328 with a 1.030 OPS, contributing 39 hits, 10 doubles, and 6 home runs while driving in 29 RBIs. In the circle, Tretton made 30 appearances and 15 starts, striking out 49 batters across 86.2 innings. Her growth as both a hitter and pitcher positioned her as a key piece of Nevada's future.

Nevada's six selections reflect the program's continued rise on the regional and national stage. All athletes named to All‑Region teams are eligible for the 2026 NFCA Division I All‑America teams.
