RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada's 2024 football schedule has been set, as the Mountain West announced the conference's fall slate Thursday.
The new era of Nevada Football launches in 2024 as head coach Jeff Choate embarks on his first campaign at the Wolf Pack helm. Choate spent the past three seasons (2021-23) as co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach at Texas, helping lead the Longhorns to a Big XII title and College Football Playoff appearance in 2023.
Helping lead the "RenoVation" in 2024 is an incoming class of newcomers which reflects the diversity and representation of the Wolf Pack coaching staff, with the February signees hailing from 19 states. While 11 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, were represented by one signee, states with multiple Wolf Pack signees are led by Texas (four), California, Pennsylvania, and Washington with three apiece, and two apiece from Arizona, Georgia, and Illinois.
Choate's first season at the Wolf Pack helm will feature seven home contests, with five taking place before November. Ten of Nevada's 13 opponents, including five of the seven visiting Mackay Stadium, played in a bowl game in 2023.
Nevada Football's "Drive For 25," a message to Wolf Pack fans to get Mackay Stadium to at least 25,000 attendees for the Aug. 24 opener against SMU, continues its push as season ticket prices for 2024 begin for as low as $99 for adults and $60 for children 12 and under. Family 4-PACK's are also available and include four General Admission season tickets and complimentary parking for only $400—a total savings of $200. Following five-straight non-conference to open the campaign, Nevada will have the first of its two byes in Week 5 (Saturday, Sept. 28).
The Pack opens Mountain West play in Week 6 (Oct. 5) at San José State, before returning to Reno for two in a row at Mackay Stadium, hosting Oregon State (Oct. 12) and Fresno State (Oct. 19). AÂ trip to Honolulu is on the docket for Nevada Day Weekend, as the Pack faces Hawai'i in Week 9 (Oct. 26).
November opens up at home as Nevada hosts Colorado State Nov. 2, followed by a trip to Boise State in Week 11 (Nov. 9), as the Pack seeks its second win in a row over the Broncos on the blue turf of Albertson's Stadium.
Nevada's second bye of the season comes in Week 12 (Nov. 16), leading right into the final two games of the regular season. The Pack hosts Air Force for Senior Day in Week 13 (Nov. 23) before heading south for the chance to wrest the Fremont Cannon from arch-rival UNLV in Week 14 (Nov. 30).
The Wolf Pack's first five weeks of non-conference play feature already-announced home contests against first-year ACC member SMU (Aug. 24), Georgia Southern (Sept. 7), and Eastern Washington (Sept. 21), along with trips to Troy (Aug. 31) and Minnesota (Sept. 14).
