Cole Moore promoted to Nevada Football General Manager

RENO, Nev. – Nevada Football head coach Jeff Choate has announced the promotion of Cole Moore to the program's General Manager role.

Moore, who joined the Wolf Pack in January as Associate Athletics Director, Football Administration, assumes a role in which he previously served from 2023-25 at Michigan State under head coach Jonathan Smith.

Nevada is the fourth program at which Choate and Moore have worked together. Moore first worked with Choate during the latter's tenure as head coach at Montana State, beginning his time with the Bobcats serving as a football administrative assistant, then being promoted to director of football operations, assistant athletic director for football operations, and ultimately chief of staff. He oversaw all aspects of the Bobcat football program, which included the budget, roster management, recruiting operations, volunteer programs, and compliance, among other duties. He went on to spend a season (2021) with Choate at Texas, serving as assistant director of player personnel and co-camp director, and began his administrative career with Choate at Washington in 2015-16.

"Cole is a guy I've known for a long time and worked with in a number of different capacities at multiple universities. He's an 'A Player' and always going to be on top of his game. He's fulfilled this role at other institutions before and having him here in-house when Bobby Merritt took the opportunity at Stanford made this call an absolute no-brainer," Choate said. "I'm very, very comfortable with Cole, have a great rapport with him and have a great amount of trust in him. He's already been working closely with our administrative team and has elevated our performance. I believe he will continue to do that in this role."

Prior to his time in East Lansing, Moore served as director of player personnel at Oregon State from 2022-23. During his season at Texas, he assisted the director of player personnel and the defensive coaching staff while developing recruiting strategies for the Longhorn football program. He assisted the director of player personnel with roster management and official and unofficial visits.

"I have admired and respected Coach Choate since I first got to know him in 2015 at the University of Washington and my belief and trust in him as a football coach, but more importantly as a human being, has only grown over the years," said Moore. "I am  very thankful for the opportunity to work alongside him again, as well as the rest of the football coaching and support staff, the athletic administration, and campus community here at the University of Nevada. I am eager to do everything I can to serve our football program and help restore the winning tradition of Nevada Football."

Moore began his collegiate career from 2015-16 at Washington as a football recruiting graduate assistant. He assisted in developing recruiting profiles for the team's coaching staff as well as recruiting itineraries.
