RENO, Nev. – Nevada Track and Field alumna
Nicola Ader was honored on the Mountain West's 25th Season Women's Indoor Track and Field Team, as announced Wednesday by the conference.
Competing for Nevada's indoor track and field team from 2017-22, Ader was a three-time indoor NCAA All-American and four-time indoor Mountain West event champion (High Jump 2019, 2020, 2022; Pentathlon 2018). To date, she remains the Mountain West's only three-time gold medalist in the high jump.
In 2019, Ader became just the sixth athlete in Nevada school history to qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championships, where she finished ninth overall in the high jump to earn second-team All-American honors. 2020 was no different as she qualified for the second year in a row after reaching a height of 1.82 meters in the high jump, ranking her tied for sixth overall in the NCAA. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, athletes were still awarded the honor based on the start list for the anticipated event, giving Ader her second All-American honor for the indoor season.
During the 2021 season, Ader earned All-American second team honors with her 16
th place finish in the pentathlon (3,089 points), becoming only the second athlete in school history to compete in the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
She currently shares the high jump school record (1.83m) that she set in 2019 with Nevada's Iesha Hamm (2022) and LaTiejra Avery (2012), a mark which is tied for fifth in the Mountain West record book. She sits tied for fourth all-time in Nevada history in the long jump (5.98m) a mark she set in 2022 that she also shares with current senior
Rayven Nealey. With her career-best mark in the pentathlon with 3,937 points, Ader ranks second all-time in Nevada school history.
Ader finished her Nevada track & field career as one of the most decorated athletes in school history. She earned a combined eight All-America honors in both indoor and outdoor competition along with seven overall career Mountain West titles, claiming 12 medals total, and owned the school record in the 60-meter hurdles from 2020-24 until senior
Sarah Marske broke it this season. Ader was also named to the All-Mountain West Team a combined 11 times.
