RENO, Nev. - The Dallas Mavericks announced last Friday that Jarod Lucas, an alum of the Nevada Wolf Pack, has officially signed with the team. With the signing of an exhibit 10 deal, the Mavericks and Lucas' representation, RIZE Management, confirmed the signing as the team finalized its roster ahead of Monday's deadline.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 195 pounds, Lucas showcased his talents with Dallas during the NBA 2K25 Summer League, where he contributed 7.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game in just 13.3 minutes of play. He displayed impressive shooting efficiency, hitting 42.1 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 89.9 percent from the free-throw line. However, Lucas was not included in the Mavericks' official training camp roster.
With the regular season set to tip off on Tuesday, Lucas will likely begin his professional journey in the NBA G League, suiting up for the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' affiliate team, whose season kicks off on November 12th.
Lucas spent the last two seasons with Nevada after starting his college career with a three-year stint at Oregon State. During his time with the Wolf Pack, Lucas helped secure two NCAA Tournament appearances and delivered his best collegiate season last year, averaging 17.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He shot 42.1 percent from the field and connected on 80 three-pointers at a personal-best 39.4 percent clip.
Throughout his five-year college career, Lucas amassed 2,146 points across 162 games, averaging 13.2 points per contest and sinking 336 three-pointers at a 38.3 percent rate. His impressive performance earned him two All-Mountain West honors while at Nevada, cementing his place as one of the program's standout players.
