BREMERTON, Wash. - The Nevada Men's Golf team concluded play at the 2023 Husky Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, carding a final round score of 293 to complete the event at +4, placing them in a tie for ninth in the 14-team field.
The Pack finished tied with Pac-12 foe Utah, while finishing ahead of fellow Mountain West teams San Diego State and Colorado State, in addition to topping St. Mary's and Seattle U on the leaderboard.
Three Pack golfers, Keita Okada, Alex Maxwell, and Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae began the day by completing their second round, as play was suspended for some individuals Monday evening due to darkness. Okada recorded an even-par 72, Maxwell carded a 73 (+1), and Seelanagae completed the second round with a 76 (+4).
Teeing off first for Nevada in the third round, Tom Patterson had another exceptional round, carding a 70 (-2) to close out the event. Patterson tallied eight pars and six birdies throughout the final set of 18 holes. The senior finished in a tie for 22nd on the final leaderboard at -1.
Maxwell recorded a 76 (+4) in the final round of the event, placing him in a tie for 36th overall at +2. Maxwell had nine pars, one birdie, and one eagle on the par-5 sixth hole in the final round.
Okada closed out what was a consistent tournament with a three-over par 75 in the final round. Okada earned a tie for 48th on the individual leaderboard at +4. In the final round, he recorded nine pars, two birdies, and one eagle on the par-5 sixth hole.
Seelanagae had his best outing of the tournament on the final day, carding an even-par 72 in the third round after tallying seven pars and six birdies. Seelanagae finished the Husky Invitational tied for 58th on the final leaderboard at +7.
Freshman Jonathan Kim rounded out the Wolf Pack lineup, recording a 79 (+7) in the final round, placing him in a tie for 64th at +9 for the tournament.
Husky Individual Invitational
In the individual competition, Ryan Sear closed out what was a stellar debut tournament by carding a 68 (-4). Sear finished even-par or better in all three rounds, and he earned a tie for 14th on the leaderboard.
Freshman Aaron Leach also had a tremendous debut event for the Pack, as he shot 69 (-3) for the final round. Leach concluded the Husky Individual Invitational at a tie for 17th at -4.
Liam Gobin shot an even-par 72 for the third and final round, finishing the event in 46th at +7.
