Monte Chumchaivate stayed hot in the second round of the Golfweek National Golf Invitational Saturday, while the Wolf Pack shot even par to end the day in seventh place.
Nevada remains at -14 for the tournament, and opens Sunday's final round 25 strokes back of leader GCU.
Chumchaivate played a bogey-free round, carding four birdies to end the day at nine-under and tied for fifth on the player leaderboard. He'll enter Sunday's final round five strokes off the pace set by Wyoming's Brody Leid.
Chumchaivate was the only member of the Pack to come in at under par Saturday, as he was followed by
Jonathan Kim and
Aaron Leach, who each shot 73 to come in at +1. Leach remains under par for the tournament, sitting tied for 21st at -4, while Kim is even and tied for 34th.
Freshman
Riki Matsumoto came in at +2 after shooting even over his back nine, and
Ben Ortwein rounded out the Wolf Pack lineup at +5.
