RENO, Nev. - The Nevada Men's Basketball team is set to travel to Las Vegas, where they will face Drake in the 2023 Jack Jones Classic on Dec. 9 at the Dollar Loan Center. The contest is slated to tip off at 4:30 p.m. with TV/streaming information to be announced at a later date.
The contest between Nevada and Drake is the second game in a triple-header, as New Mexico and Santa Clara will face off in the first game of the day, while UNLV and LMU will round out the day following the Pack's game.
Drake, the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Champions, will provide a formidable non-conference matchup for Nevada. The Bulldogs completed the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 27-8, resulting in an NCAA Tournament appearance where they lost in the first round to eventual final four team Miami. Drake returns their leading scorer from the 2022-23 campaign and MVC Player of the Year in Tucker DeVries, as they will aim to compete for another conference title.
Nevada is also coming off a highly successful 2022-23 season, in which the team went 22-11 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019. The Pack returns three All-Conference players from last season and has worked diligently to bring in strong additions through prep signings and transfers.
The matchup between the two programs will be the sixth all-time and the first since 2015, where Nevada defeated the Bulldogs at home, 79-71.
