RENO, Nev. - Nevada Women's Golfers Victoria Gailey and Leah John were recognized by the College Sports Communicators as 2023 Academic All-District Team honorees, as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. 

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors the nation's premier student-athletes for their sensational work both on the course and in the classroom. 

To be eligible for the Academic All-District Team, individuals must hold at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and they must have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds this season.

Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, where First, Second, and Third-Team All-America honorees will be announced on June 22.

Gailey recently concluded one of the most impressive individual careers in Nevada Women's Golf history, closing out her time competing for the Pack at the NCAA San Antonio Regional where she finished tied for 41st. Throughout the 2022-23 season, Gailey amassed three individual titles, seven top-10 finishes, and she set a program record for the best single-season scoring average (71.64). Gailey was named to the All-Mountain West First Team for her exceptional play. 

John also had a strong season for the Pack, posting three top-10 finishes, including a third-place finish at The Clash at Boulder Creek. John's scoring average of 73.12 ranks as the second-lowest throughout a single-season in program history.
