Nevada soccer announces 2023 spring schedule

RENO, Nev. - Two home matches at Mackay Stadium and three away matches are slated for Nevada soccer's 2023 spring schedule, head coach Vanessa Valentine announced.

Nevada will play matches at Mackay Stadium against SF State (Saturday, April 15) and Cal State East Bay (Saturday, April 29). Kickoff times are to be determined and admission to home matches is free.

"We are excited to start this new era of Nevada soccer with our spring schedule," Valentine said. "This schedule not only provides the opportunity for our community to support our program at no charge, but it will help us prepare for the fall by facing competitive competition. We look forward to using this schedule as a tool to grow as a team for the upcoming season."

The Pack will begin the spring schedule on Sunday, April 2 at Chico State, who finished the season winning four out of their last six matches and an overall record of 9-5-5 last season. Nevada will have its first opportunity to play in Reno for the spring of 2023 when it takes on SF State on Saturday, April 15 at Mackay Stadium.

Following its first home game of the spring season, Nevada travels to UC Davis for a 7 vs. 7 tournament on Saturday, April 22. The team will be divided into various groups to go up against teams such as UC Davis and Cal, Valentine's former team. UC Davis is coming off a 9-6-4 season that included an upset win over No. 5 Santa Clara while Cal completed a 10-game season to go with an NCAA Tournament berth in 2022.

Nevada will face another NCAA Division I opponent on Sunday, April 23 and travel to Sacramento State, whom the Pack defeated 3-0 in their home opener in 2022. The Pack wraps up the spring schedule on Saturday, April 29 against Cal State East Bay at Mackay Stadium.

Nevada has begun winter training later this earlier month. The Pack return 25 letterwinners from the previous season, including two-time All-Mountain West selection Emily Rich
