Mountain West Announces Nevada Basketball TV Schedule

RENO, Nev. - 14 of Nevada Men's Basketball's 18 conference matchups will be broadcasted nationally throughout the 2023-24 season, as the Mountain West announced its network TV schedule on Tuesday.

The 14 nationally-televised games signifies an increase from last season, when the Pack had 12 of its 18 Mountain West games selected to be broadcasted nationally.

The TV slate begins on Friday, Jan. 12, when Nevada will welcome Boise State to Lawlor Events Center. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan.13, but it will now take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1. The contest between the Pack and the Broncos in Reno last season was an absolute thriller, as a Kenan Blackshear layup with three seconds remaining propelled the Pack to a dramatic victory.

Nevada's next contest will also be broadcasted nationally, as the Pack will take a road trip to face the reigning conference champions and national runner-up, San Diego State, at Viejas Arena. The contest was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, Jan.16 but will now take place on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. and will broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

Following a road contest against Wyoming on Saturday, Jan. 20 that will not be nationally televised, the Pack's next three games are set to be aired on FS1, beginning with a game against Colorado State at Lawlor Events Center. Nevada was originally scheduled to face the Rams on Tuesday, Jan. 23; however, the game will now be played on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The Pack will hit the road for their next contest, traveling to face New Mexico. The contest against the Lobos was originally set for Saturday, Jan. 27, but it is now slated to take place on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.

Nevada will then return to Lawlor Events Center to host San Jose State on FS1. Initially scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3, the home contest against the Spartans will now occur on Friday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m.

After a road contest against Utah State that will not air on national television, the Pack's remaining nine Mountain West games are all scheduled to be televised by either CBS Sports network or Fox Sports 1.

The first of those nine contests is a home matchup with San Diego State that was originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10  but will now take place on Friday, Feb. 9. The game will be aired on CBS Sports Network and is slated for 5 p.m. The Pack earned a thrilling victory over the Aztecs at Lawlor Events Center last season.

After facing SDSU, Nevada will welcome New Mexico to Lawlor Events Center, as the two teams will face off on Tuesday, Feb. 13 on CBS Sports Network at 8 p.m.

A trip south to face interstate rival UNLV awaits the Pack after their home matchup against New Mexico. Nevada will face UNLV on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 8:30 p.m., and the game will air on Fox Sports 1.

The Pack will then return to Reno to host Wyoming on Tuesday, Feb. 20 on CBS Sports Network at 8 p.m.

A road contest against San Jose State is next up on the slate for the Pack. The game against the Spartans was initially scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 but will now take place on Friday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m., and it will air on Fox Sports 1.

Another road trip is up next for Nevada, as they will travel to play Colorado State on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

Nevada will head back to Reno to host Fresno State on CBS Sports Network with a time to be determined in the near future. The game was originally slated to be played on Saturday, March 2 but is now scheduled for Friday, March 1.

The Pack's final road contest of the year against Boise State is  up next on the schedule, as Nevada will take on the Broncos on Tuesday, March 5 at 8 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

Nevada will then close out the regular season with a home game against UNLV on Saturday, March 9. The contest is set to air on CBS Sports Network, with a time to be announced at a later date.

Nevada returns 67.5% of its total scoring from last season, including All-Mountain West players Jarod Lucas (Newcomer of the Year/Second Team All-MW), Kenan Blackshear (Second Team All-MW/All-MW Defensive Team), and Tre Coleman (All-MW Defensive Team). Nevada has also brought in a highly-coveted class of newcomers, featuring transfers Tylan Pope (Tulane), Jeriah Coleman (Saint Francis / Clarendon CC), as well as freshmen Jazz Gardner (Los Angeles, Calif. / West Ranch HS), Tyler Rolison (Los Angeles, Calif. / St. Bernard HS), and Amire Robinson (Akron, Ohio / Buchtel HS).

After finishing the 2022-23 campaign with an overall record of 22-11, including a conference mark of 12-6, the Pack will aim to build upon that success and compete for a Mountain West Championship.

Additionally, tip times have been set for all 17 of the Pack's non-conference games, in addition to their exhibition against Stanislaus State on Wednesday, November 1.
