Nevada Soccer adds Brad Leonard to coaching staff

RENO, Nev. - Nevada soccer has brought in Brad Leonard as its newest assistant coach, head coach Vanessa Valentine announced on Friday.

Leonard coached alongside Valentine at Cal during the 2022 season, helping the Golden Bears to a 10-win season and an NCAA Tournament berth.

"I am very excited to have Brad join our Wolf Pack family," Valentine said. "Having worked with Brad at Cal last season, we share the same passion and vision for success and I am confident he will help elevate our program. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Pack."

During his first season at Cal, Leonard helped the Golden Bears to an 8-7-3 record in 2021. Cal gave up an average of less than one goal per game under Leonard's watch that season.

Before arriving at Cal, Leonard worked with the University of Missouri's soccer program for two seasons as their director of soccer operations. In that role, Leonard was responsible for coordinating team travel, collaborating with the coaching staff on training sessions and supporting recruiting efforts. He also served as the Director of Player Analysis where he was responsible for providing analysis and feedback on opponents, training sessions, matches and potential prospects.

Prior to his Director of Operations role, Leonard was an intern with the Missouri soccer staff. He played an instrumental role in developing marketing plans for the team camps, managing the team's equipment, and tracking statistics.

Leonard earned a B.S. in Sports Management ('19) and a Master's Degree in Education ('21) from the University of Missouri.

Nevada Soccer will begin winter training later this month. The Pack's spring match schedule will be announced at a later date.
