Nicola Ader took third in the Heptathlon at the 2022 Thorpe Cup, posting a score of 5,835 points, as Team Germany captured the competition.
The Thorpe Cup is an international track and field competition between the United States and Germany. Teams are composed of up to seven men and seven women who compete in the decathlon and heptathlon. The top five men's and top three women's scores are added together to determine the overall men's and women's team winners.
Team Germany totaled 35,568 points to Team USA's 22,191 to capture the event.
Ader's third-place finish came in a 13-competitor field, finishing behind only Team USA's Chari Hawkins (6,152 points) and Germany's Anna-Lena Obermaier (5,936). Ader topped the field in the high jump event, with a top mark of 1.80 meters, and her throw of 43.41 meters was second in javelin.
