Satchel Benn was named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week, Wednesday, capping a perfect weekend as the Pack went 2-0 on the road.
Nevada (14-6, 2-0 MW) opened Mountain West play 2-0 for the first time since joining the conference for the 2013 campaign, picking up road wins of 4-3 and 4-1 at Boise State and Utah State, respectively.
Benn went 4-0 in his matches, going 2-0 at No. 2 doubles with
Loris Zisswiller, and picking up two wins, including the match-clincher at Boise State, at No. 4 singles.
At Boise State, Benn battled back from a set down to defeat Caden Moortgat, 5-7, 7-6, 6-1, to clinch the conference season-opening win for the Pack. Two days later, he again came back from down a set, bouncing back to record a 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Felipe Acosta.
With Zisswiller, Benn posted matching 6-4 doubles wins for the weekend.
Nevada has a home-road weekend coming up, hosting New Mexico Friday at 1 p.m. before heading to Air Force for an 11 a.m. PT dual.
