MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Nevada women's golf team competes in its final tournament of the regular season at The Cowgirl Classic hosted by Wyoming at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Pack won the Cowgirl Classic during the 2014-15 season, marking its only team victory in the event. Kaitlin Collom won the individual title at the Cowgirl Classic during the 2016-17 season. Nevada finished 5^th on Apr. 5-6 during last season's event and Leah John finished ninth to lead the Pack.
 
Nevada has competed in the Cowgirl Classic nine times dating back to the 2007-08 season when the Pack finished third and Melanie DeLeon tied for fifth to pace the team. The Wolf Pack shot its sixth-lowest score all-time (881) during the 2016-17 Cowgirl Classic.

Currently, the Wolf Pack is fifth in the Mountain West standings with 21.0 rounds played this season. Nevada has recorded a 298.71 average with an 11.29 score vs. par over seven events. Fresno State is first with an average score of 293.43, San Jose State is second with an average score of 294.00, UNLV is third with an average of 296.10, and San Diego State is fourth with a 295.67 average. 
 
Nevada joins a 22-team field with host Wyoming, Southern Utah, South Dakota State, Cal State Fullerton, California Baptist, Boise State, Hawaii, Santa Clara, Northern Arizona, Long Beach State, Northern Colorado, Montana Stata, UTEP, Idaho, Grand Canyon, Eastern Washington, Montana, New Mexico State, UC Riverside, Seattle, and Portland State.
 
The Pack will send a team of five to compete in its final tournament of the regular season with the quintet of Victoria Gailey, Leah John, Anitra Khoth, Kaitlin Fleiner, and Kathleen Keomahavong making up the team entry.
 
Anitra Khoth is looking to build on her seventh-place finish in the Fresno State Classic after rising 21 spots during the final round. Khoth's 69 in the final 18 holes was the second lowest in the tournament.
 
Nevada looks to continue its run of top-10 finishes after posting eight of those finishes in eight tournaments played this season. This marks the final event of the regular season prior to competing in the Mountain West Championship on Apr. 18-20.

The action begins on Monday, Apr. 4 with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., and will feature 36 holes of continuous play. Day 2 features a shotgun start to the final 18 holes at 7:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Apr. 5.
